How is it possible that Clifden is over for another year?? This summer has flown by so quickly, although it certainly was not summer weather that showed up on Thursday, more like mid-winter! However, pony people are well used to wet and windy days so the show went on! And what a show for us, Manor Duke and Joe Burke were first up in the 4-6 year old Stallion class. As I said in a previous post I have run out of superlatives to describe our gorgeous boy, he and Joe have given all of us at the Manor such an incredible year up to this point and Thursday was no different. Having won this class last year the pressure was on to retain his title and he did not disappoint. These two have such a great partnership and as always they were a joy to watch go round the ring, Duke obviously enjoyed every second of it and didn't put a foot wrong! To be placed first for the second year running is such an honour and we are so very proud of both Duke and Joe.
Next to go for us was Manor April and Sarah Dickinson in the 6-7 year old mare class. Again another super partnership this year, Sarah and April looked picture perfect as ever. This sweet mare has given us many wonderful moments since she first entered the ring two years ago and on Thursday she placed fifth in a strong class, we know there are many more special times ahead for this pair!
So even with the rain squalls we had a fantastic time in Clifden.
n, we are so proud of Manor Duke and Joe, Manor April and Sarah and so delighted that all the grandkids could be there to see them do so well, such memorable moments for mom, dad and the family. - Louise
